“Your Kingdom come,
Your will be done on Earth”
So many of us who worship here in Stockbridge Parish Church on Sunday are trying in the whole of our lives to live this part of the prayer that Jesus taught us to pray – to walk the walk.
In this place, led by our minister, we learn together how to do this – we talk the talk.
We are God’s people. Here we touch base with our God. Here we talk to each other about Jesus. Here we remind one another that God loves us, feeds us, and will strengthen us for the next week. And every Sunday we offer ourselves and this parish church to God that God’s will may be done on earth.
We need our community here. We need this place.
But if we want it to remain, we need to give it more financial support. A group of us from the Kirk Session are working together with the minister to share our problems with the congregation. We ask you to pledge your support, and to pray for us and for one another.
Please Pray
- For the members of the planning group
- For our minister as she plans our worship and her preaching. Each week may we learn more and more of God’s Plan, and what we can do to be part of it.
- For all those who are preparing to present our needs to the congregation at our congregation’s special celebration on Saturday 28th April 2012.
- For those who will work in the background for the event, making sure that everything goes to plan.
- For each other as we reflect on our own Christian giving.
- For a more committed, generous giving of our money, our time and all our talents to maintain here our Christian worship, mission and service.
A Prayer
O God, you have set before us the great hope that your kingdom is taking shape on earth. So rule our lives by your Spirit that all our thoughts, desires, and deeds may be in accord with your will. May your kingdom of love and justice and peace grow in Stockbridge, and throughout the world. Grant this, merciful God, for the sake of Jesus Christ your Son, our Lord. Amen.
