Welcoming our New Locum Minister

On Sunday 1st November, we will be delighted to welcome our new locum minister, the Rev Kristina Herbold Ross, as she begins her ministry with us at Stockbridge. Following the service, everyone is warmly invited to stay for a soup and sandwich lunch, giving us an opportunity to welcome Kristina, get to know her and enjoy some time together in fellowship and conversation. We very much look forward to welcoming Kristina to the Stockbridge Church family.

Harvest Thanksgiving – Sunday 4th October

Our Harvest Thanksgiving Service was led by our former minister, the Rev Dr John Cowie, and it was a pleasure to welcome John back to Stockbridge. Many thanks to everyone who donated dried and tinned food for Fresh Start, the Edinburgh charity supporting people moving on from homelessness into their new homes.

We also received a wonderful selection of fresh vegetables, grown and generously donated by Stuart Dickson. Their sale after the service raised more than £70, which will also go to Fresh Start. Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Harvest appeal — and especially to Stuart!

Come and Sing!

On 31st October, SOKO is hosting its annual ‘Come and Sing’ event, which funds the education of women in Malawi.

This year they will be singing 8 of Handel's most famous and popular pieces. They will also be hosting John Kitchen MBE, as Musical Director, along with his soloists.

Earlier in the month, Esther is also hosting an event - The Warblers and The Cheyne Gang (Singing for Lung Health). Both groups will be singing an exciting mix of new and well known songs, with plenty of opportunities for audience singing participation! The concert will raise important funds for singing groups which contribute to improving the health and quality of life of those with a long term breathing condition.
