What's on in March?
As we head out of February and into the clearer, sunnier skies of March Stockbridge Church is set to host an amazing amount of musical events. We will continue to advertise over on our social media, but here is a snapshot of what is to come.

TMI Friday
6th March, 12:30
TMI Friday with Nikita Naumov (double bass) and Shola Miller (piano).
Nikita Naumov is a solo double bassist known for his expressive sound, technical command and distinctive musical voice, and Shola Miller is is a classical pianist, as well as contemporary visual and performance artist, and one of the leading Kazakh artists of her generation.

Culture Club
13th March, 6:00pm
Martin Kershaw (Saxophone) joins international pianist Steven Osborne for an evening of solo piano waltzes and jazz items.
Already recognised for his depth of musicality across a diverse repertoire, with awards including The Royal Philharmonic Society Instrumentalist of the Year, two BBC Music Magazine Awards and two Gramophone Awards, Steven explores solo piano works based around the waltz—from Schumann and Boulanger to Bill Evans and Rzewski. He is then joined by saxophonist Martin Kershaw, a central figure in the Scottish jazz scene for the last 20 years, for a second half tracing the workings of jazz.

RCS String Quartet – ‘Bridging Worlds’

WIND STORY – Episode I
21st March, 1:00pm
Step into a curated concert celebrating the beauty of wind instruments. Discover the expressive voice of the oboe through carefully selected oboe and piano duo repertoire by European composers.

Calton Consort: Luminous Night of the Soul
21st March, 7:30pm
Voices and strings unite for a luminous Spring Equinox journey of poetry and song featuring music by Lucy Walker, Michael Higgins, Libby Croad, Ola Gjeilo and Anna Meredith.

Edinburgh Napier Orchestral Society
25th March, 7pm
Annual Spring Concert. The programme will showcase students’ work from throughout the year through a variety of musical styles and premieres of original compositions by Napier students.
Yvonne Burgess Singing Workshop
28th March, 2:30pm
Described as “an exciting and beautiful place to sing, with wonderful acoustics. Some days are devoted to singing beautiful Taize chants, or African songs.”

Stockbridge Cohort - After Romanticism
28th March, 7:00pm
An evening of 20th Century music shaped in the wake of Romanticism;
spanning intimate miniatures and characterful dances to reflective and playful works.
