Services & Worship
Online Worship
During the lockdown we were not able to meet together in the church as described below. We have been able to hold services in church since the end of April 2021 but we continue to stream our worship online, led by our Minister, the Reverend John Munro. You can find the the links to these services on YouTube and our homepage. If you have any comments we would be glad to receive them.
Welcome
When you enter the church a member of our welcome team will greet you and give you a service sheet. The service sheet gives details of the morning service and also contains notices of other forthcoming events.
Children
Children are very welcome at Stockbridge and can stay throughout the whole service as we worship together. Alternatively, the Session room is made available with plenty of toys and the livestream of the service on the screen.
The Lord's Supper
We celebrate the Lord's Supper, also known as Holy Communion, on the last Sunday of each month. All who wish to can participate in this celebration and those joining online are encouraged to have something to eat and drink ready when they start watching the service.
Music
Music plays an important part of our worship. Our Sunday services are led by Esther Chuang and Ben Shanks. The choir meets on Sunday mornings at 10am. They are always keen to welcome enthusiastic singers, whether or not they read music. Please speak to Esther after the service for more information. For more information about the Choir and to hear some of their music click here.
Refreshments
Tea and coffee are usually served at the end of the service. This takes place in the church halls at the back of the building. The side door to the left of the church leads you there, or you can just follow the crowds.
Fair Trade
We serve excellent Fair Trade Coffee from specialist suppliers Kingdom Coffee.
The church is an accredited Eco-congregation. We use low energy lighting throughout the church buildings, and have a state of the art heating control system to manage our energy use. We also aim to reduce our contribution to landful waste by recycling as much of the waste produced as possible and through regular uplift of all materials which can be recycled.
Offering
To avoid having to pass round a collection bag, still being conscious of the risk of Covid-19, there are collection bowls at the entrance to the church if you would like to give an offering. This is not required to join in with the service but is an opportunity for those who support the work of the church to donate towards the work of the church.
Access
There is an induction loop system available for people who use hearing aids in both the church and the halls. Flat access to the church and the halls is through the side gate on the North (Glenogle Baths) or left hand side of the building. There is ample space for wheelchairs within the building, and a wheelchair accessible toilet is also available. Toilets are situated in the corridor which leads to the halls (through the door on the pulpit side of the church). The wheelchair accessible also has a baby changing mat.
